Steak Dinner

Just a quick post about last night’s delicious dinner.  I had a lovely Delmonico steak from a local farm whose cows are grass-fed and raised without antibiotics or pesticides.  It was a big one, so I cut it into two pieces, having one for dinner and saving the other for steak and homemade mayo sandwich (which I actually just finished eating!).

As a side, I made a little chopped salad that I’ve been making all week with some of the veggies I got at the Charlottesville farmer’s market last weekend.  I’ve made some variations, but the basics are chopped cucumber, diced sweet yellow onion, diced heirloom tomatoes, cubes of feta cheese, olive oil, a little lemon juice, and salt and pepper.  It turns out almost like salsa, but it’s really crisp and refreshing.  Very summery despite it being the middle of fall.  And I apologize forthe camera job.  It is now the second time that I have used an orange tomato and put the salad into an orange bowl where the pretty tomato disappears.  Anyway, you get the idea…

Happy eating!
